The Saudi Contractors Authority has released a report “A Look at the Construction Sector – June 2026” via the SCAVO platform, reviewing the key indicators of projects awarded in the Kingdom during the month of June; with the aim of enabling contractors and investors to explore available opportunities and support data-driven decision-making.
The report indicated that June recorded the highest number of projects awarded in 2026, totaling 25 projects, while the total value of the projects exceeded 29.5 billion Saudi riyals, ranking second in terms of value after May, when the value of projects exceeded 30 billion riyals.
The Construction Sector Leads in Projects
The report indicated that the construction sector accounted for the largest share of projects, with a total of 14 projects worth over 20.6 billion Saudi riyals, representing 56% of the total projects, followed by the infrastructure, water, and energy sectors at 20% each, and then the oil and gas sector at 4%.
Geographically, the Eastern Province led in the number of projects awarded in June, with 10 projects representing 40% of the total, It also ranked first in terms of investment value, with a total exceeding 11.4 billion Saudi riyals, followed by the Riyadh region with a value exceeding 10.8 billion Saudi riyals.
The report noted that the projects were distributed across 14 subsectors, with commercial projects accounting for the largest number at four, while the mixed-use residential apartments sector achieved the highest financial value, exceeding 6 billion Saudi riyals.
National Housing Company (NHC) Is the Largest Landlord
The report also showed that the National Housing Company (NHC) topped the list of project owners in terms of value, with a total exceeding 5 billion Saudi riyals across six projects, followed by Saudi Aramco with a value exceeding 4.9 billion Saudi riyals.
The report projected that 23 projects would be awarded in July 2026, with more than 60% of them concentrated in the construction sector, and about half of the projected projects located in the Eastern Province, the Riyadh Region, and the Makkah Region, with projects expected to be launched by major entities, including the Public Investment Fund (PIF), Saudi Aramco, SABIC, and a number of other investment entities.
