the Saudi Contractors Authority has announced the release of its 2025 annual report, which highlights the scale of the qualitative transformation taking place in the construction sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as one of the key drivers for achieving the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
The report revealed rapid growth in the base of contractors registered with the Authority, reaching approximately 70,488 active memberships by the end of 2025, with a growth rate exceeding 900% over the past three years, while the sector recorded a 21.44% increase in the number of active construction sites compared to 2024, and the number of workers in the sector rose by 8.96%, exceeding 4 million workers—a clear reflection of the expansion of economic activity and the sector’s growing appeal to investors.

For his part, Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Ajlan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Contractors Authority, emphasized that the Authority is evolving from a regulatory role to a strategic enabler, leading a new phase of maturity for the sector, noting that the growth in the contractor base reflects the scale of opportunities and the increasing confidence in the national business environment.
Al-Ajlan pointed out that the sector contributed 7.75% to the Kingdom’s gross domestic product, emphasizing that, through the seventh edition of the Future Projects Forum, the Authority showcased more than 20,000 development projects worth over 3 trillion riyals, with the participation of 214 government and private entities, reflecting unprecedented development momentum.
Regarding the area of training and capacity building, Al-Ajlan explained that the Authority’s Academy has had an institutional impact, reaching more than 15,000 beneficiaries of its training and consulting services through more than 90 specialized training programs, in addition to serving more than 400 beneficiaries of accredited qualification programs and hosting 660 contractors from Saudization initiatives across seven specialized forums. He emphasized that these figures represent the foundation for the sector of the future.

Al-Ajlan added that Saudi contractors are a cornerstone of sustainable economic growth, and that the Authority is working to empower them, enhance their capabilities, and strengthen their readiness to handle the demands of major projects by developing regulatory and professional services, expanding the scope of qualification programs, and building a more efficient system that supports the growth of companies and improves performance quality in the sector.
