The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud sent a cable to His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior, and HE Minister of Finance Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al-Assaf, ordering the accounting of all losses caused by the rain to citizens of any kind within a period not exceeding one month from this date, and the payment of one month salary to all civil defense men who performed their duty towards their religion and their country with full dedication and sincerity, as follows:
The text of the cable is as follows His Royal Highness the Minister of Interior
Your Excellency the Minister of Finance
May God's peace, mercy and blessings be upon you
1 - In view of the losses caused by the heavy rains that God has bestowed on this country, including losses incurred by some citizens or those who have passed away, or in their homes, or other losses, and because our responsibility before God Almighty imposes on us a duty towards our people and our children, the people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We would like to ask you immediately and within a period not exceeding one month from the date of this letter to inventory all the losses caused by the rains to citizens of any kind, and you may use committees from the governorates with the participation of the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Finance to finalize this issue within the specified period, in order to consider compensating them for the losses they have incurred.
2 - The Ministry of Finance should pay a month's salary to all civil defense men, who - thank God - performed their duty towards their religion and their homeland with full dedication and sincerity. They have a right to be honored, appreciating and thanking all of them for their sacrifices and actions that have greatly reduced the exposure of citizens to danger - God forbid -.
May God help us to carry out the trust placed on our shoulders, as we rely on Him, and with Him we seek help. May God's peace, mercy and blessings be upon you. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud
Prime Minister
