It was announced yesterday that the stated goal of the “Generosity Is in Us and Around Us” campaign, launched by Jood Housing Platform—one of the initiatives of the Private Developmental Housing Foundation (Sakan)—will provide 8,000 housing units, which, God willing,—to provide stability for 8,000 eligible families across various regions of the Kingdom, through donations exceeding 1.4 billion riyals, in a scene that reflects the depth of social solidarity in the Kingdom and affirms that institutional charitable work has become one of the most important pillars of social development today.
This achievement is an extension of the approach of continuous giving championed by the wise leadership—may God support them—as the campaign was launched with two generous donations from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister—may God protect them—totaling 150 million riyals.
The Joud Housing Campaigns formed a broad national movement in which various entities and sectors participated, ranging from the "Nights of Generosity" held in coordination with the regional emirates, attended by Their Highnesses the Regional Governors, to the events hosted at the campaign’s headquarters for the private sector, the banking sector, endowments, donor institutions, and supporting entities, and finally to individual contributions via the Joud Al-Iskan platform.
Despite this achievement, our ambition remains even greater; the Jood Housing platform continues to receive contributions from individuals, especially during these blessed days of the last ten days of Ramadan, to increase the reward and multiply the impact, leading up to Eid al-Fitr, so that the joy is twofold: the joy of the holiday and the joy of enabling more deserving families to achieve housing stability.
This success also comes as an extension of the generous support enjoyed by the Sakn Foundation, foremost among which is the noble support from His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, who contributed one billion riyals from his own funds—support whose impact has been tangibly reflected in developmental housing projects across various regions of the Kingdom, where numerous housing units have been handed over to beneficiary families, while work continues in other areas.
It is worth noting that the annual “Joud Al-Iskan” campaigns have become a comprehensive national model that embodies an effective partnership between the government, private, and nonprofit sectors, thereby strengthening institutional integration in the service of social development and improving quality of life.
