The “Humanizing Cities” projects, implemented by the Al-Baha Regional Municipality, have added a new dimension to the urban landscape and contributed to enhancing quality of life through the development of parks, walkways, and green spaces, which became among the most prominent tourist and recreational destinations attracting residents and visitors during the 2026 Al-Baha summer season, thanks to the region’s breathtaking natural beauty and mild climate.
These projects have helped elevate the urban landscape and improve public facilities; through the creation of parks and recreational areas, the expansion of green spaces, and the development of pedestrian walkways; in line with quality of life objectives and enhancing the region’s appeal for domestic tourism.
The region has seen the creation of 143 parks and recreational areas covering a total area of over four million square meters, providing natural retreats for families and visitors, and ideal environments for recreation and relaxation amid the region’s renowned vegetation. The Municipality has also completed 45 fitness trails with a total length exceeding 104,000 linear meters, equipped with benches, shade structures, modern lighting, upgraded sidewalks, and various aesthetic features; this provides a safe and well-equipped environment for walking and encourages the adoption of healthy lifestyles.
The Municipality has leveraged the region’s natural features to develop walking trails, and created vantage points overlooking mountains, forests, and valleys, allowing visitors to combine physical activity with the enjoyment of nature amid the mild climate that characterizes summer in Al-Baha.
The urban enhancement projects also include (39) plazas and squares, (37) roundabouts, and (133) sculptures and murals, as part of the Municipality’s ongoing efforts to enhance the urban landscape and improve the facilities and services provided to residents and visitors.
These sites have become among the most prominent destinations, seeing increasing popularity during the 2026 Al-Baha summer season, thanks to the integrated environment they offer, combining green spaces with modern facilities. This reflects the region’s development and reinforces its status as a leading tourist destination in the Kingdom.
