The “Humanization and Urban Intelligence Forum” discussed on its first day, organized by the Water Academy in Madinah, the training arm of the Saudi Water Authority, from February 10 to 12, topics related to humanization smart cities and its local and global applications. Dr. Abdullah Al-Shanbari, a faculty member at King Abdulaziz University, gave a presentation on the concept of humanizing urbanization and the importance of urban design in building more vibrant cities that are designed for humans first and take into account the needs and aspirations of the community.

The first day witnessed the attendance and participation of a number of entities, including Medina Municipality, Medina Development Authority, Medina Chamber, Thebes University, King Abdulaziz University, Saudi Water Authority, National Center for Vegetation Development and Desertification Control, as well as other entities interested in urban affairs and quality of life.The sessions touched on the role of community participation in city planning, the need to involve the community in formulating urban solutions, highlighting the relationship between quality of life and urban planning, and transforming smart technologies into effective tools that contribute to improving lifestyle and building sustainable and resilient cities.

The organization of the forum comes to emphasize the importance of integrating human values and technical innovation in urban planning, in line with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 in improving the quality of life, developing smart cities, and achieving environmental sustainability.
