As part of the launch of the Saudi-Swedish Business Council’s first term (2016–2019), a delegation from the Council of Saudi Chambers and business leaders began exploring prospects for economic cooperation between the two countries, as well as partnerships and investment opportunities, with their Swedish counterparts in Sweden.
The Saudi-Swedish Business Council will hold its first meeting with the participation of business leaders from both countries and the Saudi-Swedish Business Forum, which will discuss avenues for partnership between the two countries in the sectors of education, health, and entrepreneurship, as well as present investment opportunities in the Kingdom.
This visit is the first since the Council of Saudi Chambers and the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce signed a memorandum of understanding in Riyadh to establish the Saudi-Swedish Business Council, and represents the result of continuous efforts, joint work, and a shared Saudi-Swedish desire to increase the volume of trade and investment between the two countries. The Council aims to facilitate ongoing interaction between the Saudi and Swedish business sectors and to increase commercial and economic cooperation between the two countries, in addition to systematically undertaking various commercial and promotional activities in the fields of trade, investment, and technology transfer, with a focus on targeted sectors.
