The Riyadh Infrastructure Projects Center was crowned during its participation in the Smart Cities Exhibition in Barcelona as one of the top 4 initiatives in the Governance and Economy category, out of more than 533 nominated projects from 68 countries around the world, for its comprehensive detailed master plan product, which reflected Riyadh’s efforts to raise the quality of infrastructure projects through comprehensive planning and coordination between government and private entities and service providers.
This achievement reflects the efforts in the Riyadh region to develop the infrastructure projects system, through the comprehensive detailed plan product that contributes to raising the quality of projects by enhancing integrated planning and coordination between governmental and private entities and service providers, which supports the efficiency of implementation and reduces conflicting work.
It is worth noting that the center was also recognized in the same category as one of the top four initiatives for 2025 in the Governance and Economy sector for its "Road Resurfacing Project Governance" initiative. This initiative aimed to develop a unified governance framework for work procedures, enhancing coordination, planning, and execution efficiency, raising safety standards, and minimizing conflicts and disruptions associated with infrastructure projects. This achievement is a continuation of the Riyadh Infrastructure Projects Center's efforts to showcase Riyadh's experience in developing and managing infrastructure projects and adopting smart and sustainable solutions. This contributes to achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and enhancing the quality of life and efficiency of urban projects and services.
The comprehensive detailed infrastructure works plan is one of the strategic projects that aims to coordinate and plan infrastructure projects in the Riyadh region, in addition to raising the level of control, compliance and coordination in the various project works; which aims to enhance the quality of life of the region’s residents and visitors, and promotes sustainable development in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
It will contribute to harmonizing projects in the region, in addition to reducing the negative effects resulting from overlapping works, including reducing the repetition of excavation work and improving coordination mechanisms between the public and private sectors, noting that the project will rely on the use of data and modern technologies to ensure the implementation of projects with high efficiency.
