Several observations and comments caught the attention of followers and media professionals during the announcement of the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce election results, including the fact that four candidates received no votes from the electorate, leading some observers to conclude that they had withdrawn from the race after the final list was approved. Furthermore, the winning lists did not include any women.
In addition, business leaders and experts called for the inclusion of women on the list to be selected by the Ministry of Commerce and Investment so that they may represent businesswomen on the Chamber’s board of directors, as well as to strengthen the elected board with young professionals, since the Kingdom’s future economic phase will focus heavily on and support projects led by young people and entrepreneurs.
