Engineer Ibrahim bin Mohammed Al-Sultan, Head of the Projects and Planning Center at the Higher Authority for the Development of Riyadh, explained that white lands in Riyadh constitute 64% with a total area of about 1994 square kilometers, distributed between planned white lands and unplanned white lands, While the developed lands represent 36%, within the “urban development phase” until 1450 AH, with a total area of 1121 square kilometers, while the developed urban area in the city during the period between 1433 and 1437 AH increased by 7%.
.According to a study of land use in Riyadh, the results of which were presented last Wednesday at the third meeting of the Commission for the year 1437 AH, the total number of buildings in Riyadh reached about 517 thousand buildings, including about 20 thousand buildings under construction, and the number of housing units amounted to more than 1.2 million housing units with a total development area of 270 square kilometers, of which villas constitute 52%, apartments 42%, and 6% for the rest of the other types of housing units.
The study indicated that the number of mosques in Riyadh city reached 5216 mosques, including 1089 “inclusive mosques”, with a total development area of 11 square kilometers.
