Ministry of Communications and Information Technology begins training young leaders to improve performance

Posted in

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has developed a special program to train and prepare leaders as part of the “Qayadi” initiative, which targets the second tier of young leaders to enable them to assume leadership positions and enhance the ministry’s performance now and in the future.

The program, approved by Communications Minister Mohammed Al-Suwail, aims to enhance their leadership qualities and professional competence, while the Ministry seeks, through this initiative, to mitigate both known and unexpected structural risks and to develop criteria for selecting second-tier leaders within the Ministry and its affiliated programs, using specific selection policies and standards, and subsequently developing them through specialized general and specific training programs.

The Ministry clarified that the initiative will be implemented in three phases: the first phase, during which the target positions are identified—a process currently underway— followed by the nomination and selection phase for all targeted positions, and then the phase of preparing development plans. The Ministry emphasized that selection and evaluation will be based on specific criteria and tests to ensure accuracy, objectivity, and the selection of the most suitable candidates.

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology had previously signed an agreement with the Ministry of Civil Service on the executive plan for the Ministry’s human resources management activities, in accordance with the “King Salman Human Resources Development Program,” with the aim of training mid-level and senior management staff and preparing individual development plans for replacement employees.
