Sources at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh announced that five international specialized companies have submitted bids to manage and operate the duty-free shops in Terminals 1 and 2, According to press sources, these five companies will manage and operate duty-free zones at certain regional airports in the Kingdom that handle international traffic. The bids will be evaluated, and the winning company will be announced next month.
The bidding companies are major duty-free operators at a wide range of international airports and operate an extensive network of duty-free shops at major and well-known international airports across Europe, Asia, and North America, King Khalid Airport Authority expects these new companies to bring about a qualitative leap in duty-free operations, in line with the modernization and transformation the airport is undergoing across its various terminals, including the launch of Terminal 5 for domestic flights, which will handle all Flynas flights to and from all airports in the Kingdom.
