The Riyadh Chamber of Commerce announced the date of its annual Businessmen’s Gala, to be held on the evening of Wednesday, 27 Dhu al-Hijjah 1437 AH (September 28, 2016) at the Businessmen’s Club at the Chamber’s headquarters. The gala will host a number of Their Highnesses the Princes, Their Excellencies the Ministers, and senior officials from the public sector, as well as heads and representatives of Arab, Islamic, and foreign diplomatic missions accredited to the Kingdom.

The gala, which the Chamber has traditionally organized for more than twenty years, takes place at the start of businesspeople’s return to their commercial and investment activities following the summer break. Its aim is to strengthen communication and dialogue between businesspeople on the one hand, and senior government officials on the other, and to exchange views and perspectives on the business sector’s key concerns regarding the national economy and its connection to global economic developments.

The meeting strengthens economic ties among business leaders in Riyadh, renews connections, and reinforces cooperation with senior government officials on economic and investment matters, while broadening mutual understanding among them—thereby bolstering the national economy, creates a fertile environment for the business sector to advance its economic and developmental role, and provides an opportunity to exchange ideas and proposals that enhance the Kingdom’s investment climate.

This year’s ceremony coincides with developments in the global economy, the effects of which are reflected in the state of the national economy, particularly in oil revenues, It also coincides with the announcement of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and the National Transformation Program 2020, aimed at restructuring the national economy and state institutions to deal effectively with these developments, as well as the private sector’s role in their implementation; these developments are expected to shape the atmosphere of the ceremony. The Chamber has extended invitations to a large gathering of Their Highnesses the Princes, Their Excellencies the Ministers, and representatives of the diplomatic corps; furthermore, the invitation is open to business leaders to participate in the ceremony honoring them.
