The Ministry of Housing has renewed its call for owners of unregistered land to register promptly to avoid violating the regulations and provisions of the system, following the expiration of half the registration period that began on 10/9/1437 AH,  and ends on 10/3/1438 AH. Last June, the Ministry of Housing announced the targeted geographic scope for implementing the first phase of the vacant land fee system in the cities of Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam, with registration to be completed within six months.

In the same context, the supervisor of the vacant land fee program, Engineer Muhammad Al-Madiheim, confirmed earlier that the vacant land fee system includes provisions for imposing an annual fee on all vacant land owned by one or more natural persons or non-governmental legal entities, at a rate of 2.5% of the land’s value.

Engineer Mohammed Al-Madiheim, supervisor of the Unregistered Land Fees Program, recently stated that failure to register land within the six-month period specified by the fee system constitutes a violation of the system’s provisions, exposing the landowner to a fine of up to 2.5% of the land’s value.
