Aiming for sustainable food security Saudi Agricultural Exhibition 2016 kicks off with the participation of more than 350 companies

Riyadh is hosting the «Saudi Agricultural Exhibition 2016» today, Sunday, in its 35th edition at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center, in conjunction with the «Saudi Agri-Food Exhibition,» the 23rd International Trade Fair for Food Products, and the »the »Saudi Food Packaging Expo," the sixth international trade fair for food processing and packaging technologies. The event runs from 1–4 Muharram 1438 AH, corresponding to October 2–5, 2016.

On this occasion, the exhibition’s General Manager, Mr. Khalid Daou, confirmed that the number of exhibitors has so far reached 350 companies from 31 participating countries around the world, and that 96% of the exhibition space has been reserved. This year, the exhibition highlights organic farming and related products, as well as fish farming and aquaculture, in line with new government initiatives aimed at achieving sustainable food security.

Khalid Al-Daw added that the exhibition attracted major local and international companies to showcase the latest technologies and services that meet the needs of the agricultural sector and benefit both participants and visitors.

The exhibition director noted that Riyadh Exhibitions Co., Ltd. aims, through organizing this exhibition, to highlight vital sectors in the Kingdom, by organizing local exhibitions in accordance with international standards to align with the Kingdom’s strategic plans to become a global destination for conferences and exhibitions, strengthen communication channels between local and foreign partners, and solidify strong commercial partnerships between the two sides.
