The National Committee for Contractors at the Council of Saudi Chambers, headed by Chairman Fahd bin Mohammed Al-Hammadi, discussed with a delegation representing the Chinese Chamber of Commerce for Contracting, which is currently visiting the country, aspects of joint cooperation in the field of contracting, and the possibility of establishing partnerships between the two sides to take advantage of the great investment opportunities in the Saudi market, which is witnessing the establishment of huge development projects in various fields.The meeting was initiated by the Chairman of the National Committee for Contractors, Fahd Al-Hammadi, who emphasized the strength of relations between the two countries, which created the appropriate environment for the growth of cooperation in economic activities, especially in the contracting sector, praising the role played by companies Al-Hammadi called for the need to intensify cooperation between the two sides in the field of training Saudis in the professions related to the contracting sector, given the importance of the sector and its size and the great job opportunities it can provide for citizens in light of the state and private sector orientation towards nationalization, in addition to the experience that the Chinese side can provide in this aspect, through activating the cooperation agreement signed between the two sides, which includes many different forms of cooperation aimed at upgrading the national contracting companies. Al-Hammadi provided a detailed explanation of the reality and status of the contracting sector in the Kingdom and the development trends in the Kingdom, in addition to the committee's approach and its demand to establish an independent body to regulate construction and contracting works in the Saudi market, noting the importance of guidance and benefit from the Chinese experience in this regard. While the Chinese side, represented by the President of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce for Contracting, Mr. Dilu Shunhe, expressed its interest and readiness to enhance cooperation with its Saudi counterparts in various fields in light of the agreement signed between the two sides, due to the accumulated experiences and advantages of the Chinese contracting companies and their expertise in this regard, and by activating the cooperation agreement signed by the two sides, he stressed the Chinese side's commitment to the activation of the various cooperation programs. He stressed the commitment of the Chinese side to activate the social responsibility programs of Chinese contracting companies operating in the Kingdom, pointing out that China views the Kingdom as an important market, especially in the field of construction, where the value of contracts for projects won by Chinese companies during the past year reached more than $ 4 billion. He pointed out that they look forward to increasing the volume of cooperation with the Saudi side due to the availability of many investment opportunities, especially in the field of projects currently under implementation, which are estimated in billions, which is an opportunity for Chinese companies, where he stressed that the Chinese Chamber of Commerce includes in its membership 1500 companies working in the field of various contracting and are ready to work in the Saudi market.
