Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques patronizes the fourth Arab Housing Conference in December in Riyadh

Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Ministry of Housing will organize the fourth Arab Housing Conference under the title “Activating Public-Private Partnership to Develop the Housing Sector”, from 21-23 Rabi" I 1438H corresponding to December 20-22, 2016 in Riyadh.

His Excellency the Minister of Housing, Majid bin Abdullah Al-Haqeel, valued the generous royal patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for the conference, noting that it reflects the continuous interest of the wise leadership in the housing sector and the keenness to develop and upgrade it to meet all aspirations, in addition to the interest in promoting the exchange of expertise and experiences between Arab countries in various fields to contribute to their progress and development.

He explained that the conference includes a set of themes related to the housing and reconstruction sector at the level of Arab countries, and comes under the follow-up of the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Construction of the League of Arab States, pointing out that it discusses the most prominent developments in this sector and how to benefit from them, and includes a number of scientific sessions that discuss several topics related to housing and its affairs, with the participation of experts in housing, urban development, real estate development, investment and financing representing government and private institutions from several countries, as well as an accompanying exhibition in which a group of local and international entities from both sectors participate, as well as a number of local and international organizations.

His Excellency said in a press statement:" The fourth Arab Housing Conference, organized by the Ministry of Housing in partnership with the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Construction of the League of Arab States, aims to achieve a set of positive results that will serve the housing sector and its organization at the level of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Arab countries, including providing insights on the role of government institutions and bodies in public-private partnership, highlighting the role of the private sector in achieving the objectives of housing policies, clarifying the importance of partnership between the two sectors as a strategic option in housing projects, in addition to defining the patterns of applying effective partnership and its fundamentals and

He noted that the choice of the theme of the conference comes in recognition of the Ministry and the League of Arab States of the importance of the private sector and emphasizing that it is a partner in national development, noting that the strategic objectives of the Ministry of Housing, which comes in line with the National Transformation Program 2020 and Saudi Vision 2030, emphasized the importance of effective partnership with the private sector and work to improve its performance, stimulate real estate supply and raise productivity to provide housing products with various options, high quality and appropriate price.

The fourth Arab Housing Conference will discuss 5 main themes, with the participation of a group of local and international speakers from specialists and interested parties, as the conference discusses in its first axis the role of decision-makers and concerned parties in achieving national visions in the partnership between the public and private sectors, the role of government institutions and bodies and private sector institutions in achieving the objectives of housing policies, and in the second axis participants discuss the dimensions of adopting the partnership between the two sectors and methods of application.

The fourth Arab Housing Conference will discuss 5 main themes, in which a group of local and international speakers from specialists and interested parties will participate.

The third axis reviews the partnership between the two sectors in urban development through the development of city centers, slum areas and others, the fourth axis highlights the basics of partnership in activating housing plans, what are its principles and tools, the most prominent pros and cons, the challenges it faces and how to overcome them to achieve an effective relationship, while the fifth axis presents a set of successful housing partnership experiences between the public and private sectors in the field of planning, implementation, financing and marketing.

Participants discuss the dimensions of adopting the partnership between the two sectors and the methods of its application.
