Abu Dhabi will host the Middle East and North Africa Food Production Conference 2030 this coming March, on the sidelines of the Global Forum for Agricultural Innovation 2017, the premier annual event focused on the future of sustainable agriculture. The Middle East and North Africa Food Production Conference 2030 will serve as an important and vital platform for discussing the challenges facing food production among government agencies, food producers, scientists, and investors, in an effort to establish a safe, profitable, and sustainable food production system.

The forum, in which Abu Dhabi plays a pivotal role, coordinates efforts to address the growing pressures of feeding more than 520 million people by 2030, and food security represents the greatest challenge facing the Middle East today.

The panel discussions announced so far include a presentation by Nofoo, which aims to stop the culling of 3.2 billion male chicks annually, and another solution from WeFarm, which involves launching a pioneering network capable of connecting with farmers in all developing countries without the need for the internet, as well as a pioneering computational modeling solution from Ecotxi that integrates artificial intelligence into agricultural operations.

In this regard, Nicola Davison, Events Director at the organizing company Tarit Media, said: “Hosting such important international events in Abu Dhabi underscores the United Arab Emirates” commitment to leading and advancing the ongoing dialogue on food security and climate adaptation."
