With the participation of more than 85 specialized and leading real estate companies, His Excellency Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, Minister of Economy and Trade, inaugurated Cityscape Qatar 2017, in its sixth edition, at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC). The exhibition is held under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, over three days, and is considered the most important investment and real estate exhibition in the State of Qatar, as it showcases the latest developments in the real estate sector in Qatar and the wider region.

85 real estate companies from 22 countries

The exhibition features over 85 participating companies from 25 countries, including Qatar, Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Turkey, Egypt, Cyprus, the United Kingdom, France, Jordan, Lebanon, Lithuania, Morocco, Portugal, Italy, Georgia, and many more. The prestigious event, taking place over three days from March 13-15, 2017, will highlight the world's best investment opportunities, encompassing residential, hospitality, commercial, retail, and other projects.

50 projects from Pakistani companies

This year’s exhibition has dedicated a huge pavilion to Pakistan, showcasing more than 50 projects from across its regions. Its real estate companies, Star Marketing, Athar Marketing Network, Fast Marketing, DHI Bahawalpur, Multan, DHI Peshawar, Bush Villa Multan, and Gulistan Marketing, are presenting their latest residential and real estate products.

For his part, Ghiath Anwar, Regional Director of Star Marketing, commented, welcoming his company's participation. He explained that Star Marketing specializes in finding the best investments for its valued investors and that they have a portfolio of projects they showcased at the exhibition, including the Sidra Twin Towers in Karachi. He added that they are planning joint ventures in Dubai, Singapore, and other countries, as well as expansion plans in Pakistan. He concluded by saying, "We look forward to meeting our esteemed guests at the exhibition this year."

Market Outlook Conference in Qatar

On the sidelines of the exhibition, the “Qatar Market Overview” conference was launched, addressing the role of the real estate sector in achieving Qatar’s long-term goals. The conference, organized by DTZ and hosted by its Managing Director, Ed Brooks, unveiled the latest real estate reports. These reports indicated that rental levels remain high due to Qatar’s economic growth, steady population increase, and insufficient supply to meet market demands. Furthermore, rising oil prices are expected to stimulate economic growth, which will consequently lead to higher demand for real estate compared to 2016. The highest demand in the coming years for residential properties is anticipated to come from low- to middle-income expatriates. Key findings also showed that the retail market has performed strongly over the past five years, driven by population growth, high per capita income, and limited supply. The study also indicated that rental prices will either increase or remain stable in shopping malls that were available last year.
