Last Monday, the Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC) hosted a press conference—organized by the Ihbar Group for International Exhibitions—to announce the launch date of the third edition of the “COVERTECH 2017” COVERTECH, which will be held this year from October 10–12, 2017, at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center.

Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Abdulaziz bin Hamad Al-Aqil, Secretary General of the Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC), stating that the organization’s sponsorship of the exhibition for the third consecutive year stems from its tireless efforts to support specialized activities, events, and exhibitions that drive economic growth in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. He noted that “GOIC is committed to encouraging events organized by the private sector in the Gulf countries, with the aim of advancing the Gulf industrial sector and enhancing the level of industrial cooperation and coordination among GCC member states.”

He explained that for forty years, GOIC has contributed to supporting the industrial sector in GCC member states, and has made remarkable efforts to achieve economic and social integration between the public and private sectors in the region by encouraging the private sector to play an active role in the economies of the Gulf states. The organization has thus been able to affirm its distinctive and prominent role in Gulf industrial development, particularly as it is a globally renowned center of expertise that is competitive and distinguished in the field of industrial consulting services.

Al-Aqeel expressed his hope that “in its third edition, the exhibition will achieve its goals of meeting the needs of an important industrial sector—namely, the building materials sector— especially during this period when numerous mega-projects are coming to fruition—such as large shopping malls, hotels, and stadiums—as well as all projects related to Qatar’s hosting of the 2022 FIFA World Cup,” emphasizing that “the exhibition will be the ideal venue for companies and interested parties—especially local Qatari and Gulf companies—as it will provide them with the opportunity to meet with representatives of international companies, which bodes well for securing major deals, building fruitful business relationships, and exchanging expertise. We also hope that ”Covertec 2017“ will serve as an opportunity to enhance industrial development and commercial cooperation among GCC countries, for the progress of our nations and the advancement of our beloved Gulf homelands.”

For his part, Dr. Mayser Siddiq, CEO of the Ihbar Group of Companies, noted that the exhibition is the only one in the Gulf Cooperation Council dedicated to flooring, walls, and lighting, and that its third edition will be held this year from October 10–12, 2017, at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center, with the participation of numerous Qatari and international companies showcasing the latest interior design trends. He emphasized that “The exhibition is distinguished by its ability to attract industry professionals and decision-makers; over the past two years, it has been visited by a large number of consultants, engineers, hotel managers, real estate developers, and government officials from Qatar and the Arab Gulf states.“

He added: “The number of participating countries in this edition has doubled to include Qatar, Turkey, Brazil, China, Jordan, Palestine, Egypt, Tunisia, Spain, Ukraine, Italy, the Sultanate of Oman, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Lebanon, in addition to the participation of a number of chambers of commerce and industry from Arab and European countries.”

Siddiq praised the active role of the Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting, led by Secretary-General Mr. Abdulaziz bin Hamad Al-Aqil, noting that the organization has sponsored and supported the exhibition for the third consecutive year, and stating that “Sponsoring such exhibitions is part of the organization’s mission to develop Gulf industries.” He also highlighted the importance of the exhibition’s sponsors, such as the international sponsor, the “International Federation of Economists and Administrators in the European Union” (International Sponsor), as well as the sponsors of the previous edition of the exhibition, including the Qatar Green Building Council and the Qatar Development Bank. He also praised the role of the General Tourism Authority in supporting specialized and reputable international exhibitions, which boost tourism and foster trade between Qatar and participating countries.

Also speaking at the conference were Mr. Jamal Al-Hariri, General Manager of “Fantasia Decor,” and Dr. Elisabetta Marascagli, CEO of “Riva Construction.”

A discussion then took place between participants and media representatives regarding the “Covertec” exhibition and its objectives, as well as “JOIC”“s efforts to support small and medium-sized enterprises and address the challenges faced by investors in the industrial sector.

It is worth noting that ”Covertek 2017“ showcases the latest building materials, such as wood flooring, marble, ceramics, paints, doors and windows, carpets, curtains, and roof insulation products.
