Posted in

Euromoney Conferences is holding a special session one day before the start of the Euromoney Saudi Arabia Conference. The session will present a study on real estate investment funds in the Kingdom. The session is sponsored by Knight Frank, an independent real estate consulting firm. It comes amid growing investor interest in the real estate investment fund sector in Saudi Arabia.

Since the enactment of legislation clarifying the rules governing the listing of real estate investment trusts in 2016, the sector has seen significant growth; three real estate investment trusts have been listed in the Kingdom, with others expected to be launched in the near future.

Real estate investment trusts (REITs) are investment instruments that can be traded on the stock market, offering an opportunity to invest in and own income-generating real estate assets. Historically, real estate investment trusts have facilitated substantial investments by retail investors and long-term investors, such as pension funds and insurance companies.

The executive summary presentation hosted by Euromoney Conferences will include a comprehensive introduction to the concept of real estate investment trusts by senior representatives from Knight Frank, including Stefan Borsch, the firm’s director for the Kingdom and Bahrain, and Michael Postella, Real Estate Investment Trust Research Consultant, along with a special presentation and panel discussion featuring Hassan Abdullah Al-Shuaibi, Director of Investment Product Issuance at the Capital Market Authority, who will outline the Authority’s approach to real estate investment trusts in the Kingdom.

The Euromoney Saudi Arabia Conference is scheduled to take place on May 2 and 3 in Riyadh, while the session on real estate investment funds will be held on May 1.
