Under the patronage of the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, the “First Saudi Smart Cities Conference“ will be held from May 16–18 at the King Faisal Conference Hall in the Riyadh InterContinental Hotel, This event stems from the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs’ initiative to transform Saudi cities into smart cities, which is one of the Municipal Transformation 2020 initiatives arising from the National Transformation Program 2030.
The conference aims to bring together local and global expertise in the field of smart cities from city managers, researchers, developers, designers, practitioners, beneficiaries, government agencies, and the private sector to share and exchange experiences and technologies that will contribute to the transformation of Saudi cities into smart cities. The conference will address the following topics: (Smart City Vision, Smart Urban Planning, Smart City Governance, Smart Transportation Systems, as well as methods for capacity building and skills development for professionals in the smart city sector) These topics will be explored through seminars and workshops led by a select group of local and international experts, academics, and specialists in the fields of smart cities, urban planning, and urban development. A number of smart solutions providers will highlight the role of technology and innovation in transforming cities into smart cities, and there will be an accompanying exhibition showcasing best practices (both local and international).
