50 billion riyals the size of e-commerce in Saudi Arabia

Specialists in the field of information technology predicted that the volume of e-commerce in the Kingdom will reach 50 billion riyals by the year 2015, due to the great development in communication technologies and the use of the Internet in the Kingdom.
They said that this will contribute to the spread of e-shopping, providing a lot of strength and spread factors for home-based investors and small business owners who do not have the material and human resources to market their products.
Specialists in the field of information technology revealed that the volume of e-commerce in the Kingdom will reach 50 billion riyals by 2015, due to the great development in communication technologies and the use of the Internet in the Kingdom.
This came in the lecture «E-marketing for women investors from home» organized by the Riyadh Chamber recently, represented by the Riyadh Center for Small and Medium Business Development. During their interventions in the lecture, several female investors called for the need for the authorities concerned with e-commerce to overcome all obstacles that prevent them from benefiting from the potential of e-commerce in marketing their products, and demanded the provision of possible facilities that help them promote their products that find acceptance by many inside and outside the region.
In the lecture, Yazeed Al-Tawil, President of E-Commerce Solutions, spoke about the basics and mechanisms of using e-commerce to market products online easily and with less risk. He also provided an explanation of a number of types of e-commerce, saying that it is witnessing growth in many countries of the world, as its growth in Asia reached 27 percent, America 29 percent and Europe 34 percent, and its volume reached 210 billion dollars in China and 252 billion dollars in America, indicating that the Kingdom ranks second in the Gulf in e-commerce.
