<With the aim of managing joint cooperation in urban planning and smart applications for city management, Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs Engineer Abdullatif bin Abdulmalik Al Sheikh and Prince Turki bin Saud bin Mohammed Al Saud, President of King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, signed a memorandum of understanding between the ministry and the city, which includes activating and developing the information security operations center for monitoring and evaluation to include the field of information technology security, developing the necessary legislation and policies to ensure raising the level of service to be developed, and raising the human competencies of the ministry in information security.
On this occasion, the Minister expressed his aspiration to achieve the objectives of this cooperation, based on the government's keenness to develop the municipal sector in various fields, and to benefit from the capabilities and services provided by the city in line with the latest applications and expertise, and in an effort to fully benefit from advanced technologies in this aspect.
Al Al-Sheikh said that the agreement includes the development of traffic and transportation, informal areas studies and analysis, flood studies, property and land inventory, remote sensing, satellite imagery, aerial photography, drone photography, and cadastral works and services.
Al-Sheikh explained that the agreement comes within the framework of strengthening the human and technical capabilities of the Ministry with modern advanced technologies, and utilizing the capabilities of KACST to provide consultations and develop information security programs."
For his part, Prince Dr. Dr. Al-Sheikh said that KACST is keen to develop the municipal sector in various fields.
For his part, Prince Dr. Turki bin Saud bin Mohammed said that the agreement would raise the level of cooperation between the two parties to enhance the efficiency of technical performance and contribute to the modernization of information and communication systems within the framework of the services provided by the city to various state institutions, especially in the municipal field.
