During a meeting in Riyadh with Egyptian Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Engineer Ibrahim Mahlab—as part of the Egyptian Prime Minister’s recent state visit to the Kingdom—Saudi Minister of Housing Dr. Shuish bin Saud Al-Duwaihi discussed ways to strengthen joint efforts between the two brotherly countries. The two ministers also discussed cooperation in the housing sector, the exchange of expertise, and investment opportunities in the sector within the context of Arab economic development.
The Egyptian Minister of Housing expressed his appreciation for the Kingdom’s constant support and assistance to Egypt, both its government and people, in light of the close ties between the two brotherly nations, and wished the Kingdom and its people continued stability and prosperity. Al-Duwaihi welcomed all efforts that support the growth of housing initiatives and coordination in this regard between the Kingdom and Egypt for the benefit of the two brotherly peoples. They reviewed aspects of the Ministry of Housing’s executive projects, which provide developed land to citizens and loans for construction, as well as the regulatory projects, which include the «Iskan» housing support mechanism and the «Ijar» program, alongside upcoming projects aimed at providing citizens with suitable housing that is fully equipped with services and facilities, They described the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ support for the housing sector and citizen development as an effective incentive that will contribute to the civilizational development of Saudi society, in addition to the progress the Kingdom has made internationally in many fields.
Meanwhile, Minister of Housing Dr. Shuish bin Saud Al-Duwaihi recently met with the Portuguese Ambassador to the Kingdom, Manuel Carvalho, at the Ministry’s headquarters. At the start of the visit, the Minister was briefed on the Ministry of Housing’s current and future projects, which cover all regions of the Kingdom, as well as its vision for providing citizens with suitable housing that includes various services and facilities, The two sides also discussed aspects related to the economic sector, highlighting the importance of housing and emphasizing that it constitutes one of the most fundamental pillars for the advancement and development of societies.
Dr. Al-Duwaihi explained that such meetings are important for both parties, as they contribute to strengthening relations between the two countries and deepening communication between them, in addition to providing an opportunity to learn from practical experiences related to housing, which helps support and develop this sector.
