According to the results of the 1438 AH (2017) Population Characteristics Survey announced by the General Authority for Statistics, the population of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was approximately (32,552,336) compared to 31,742,308 in the Demographic Survey (2016), with an average annual growth rate of 2,52%. This population is distributed by sex as follows: (57,48%) males and (42,52%) females out of the total population in 1438 AH (2017), These proportions are similar to those in the 2016 Demographic Survey, where the proportion of males was (57,44%) and that of females was (42,56%).

According to the survey results, the Saudi population is estimated at (20,408,362) people, representing (62,69%) of the Kingdom’s total population, compared to (20,064,970) people in the 2016 Demographic Survey, representing an increase of (343,392) people. The Saudi population is distributed by gender as follows: (50,94%) males and (49,06%) females out of the total Saudi population in 1438 AH (2017), These proportions are similar to those in 1437 AH (2016), when the proportion of males was (50,96%) and that of females was (49,04%).
