Sponsored by and in partnership with Amlak Real Estate Newspaper, the 15th edition of the Saudi Plastics and Petrochemical Industries Exhibition 2018 kicks off tomorrow, Sunday, and runs through January 24 at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center.

This event brings together leading industry figures from the local, regional, and international levels, offers a number of specialized workshops in this sector, and showcases the latest technologies and services for the plastics and petrochemical industries. Organized by Riyadh Exhibitions Co., Ltd., the exhibition coincides with the «Saudi Printing and Packaging Exhibition 2018» as well as the 14th International Trade Fair for Printing and Packaging Technologies.

In this regard, Mr. Mohammed bin Hamad Al-Husseini, General Supervisor of the exhibition, said that the “Saudi Plastics” is part of the massive industrial and economic momentum the Kingdom is experiencing, which has turned it into a permanent workshop, in line with the National Transformation Program 2020 and Saudi Vision 2030, noting that the exhibition aims to increase the contribution of petrochemicals and reduce the country’s dependence on oil, while focusing on supporting sustainable local industries and attracting local and global investments in this sector.

Recent reports have shown that the Gulf chemicals industry has recorded an accelerated growth rate over the past five years; chemical production rose by 5.3 TP3T, reaching 167 million metric tons in 2017, The increase in production capacity is attributed to the Kingdom achieving an annual production growth of 12.7 TP3T. The petrochemical and chemical industries sector in the Kingdom plays a leading role in driving economic transformation, job creation, and growth, in line with Saudi Vision 2030, which has established the manufacturing sector as the foundation for its industrial goals supporting economic diversification.
