Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud—may God protect him—and chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Public Investment Fund, the Public Investment Fund announced the dates for the Future Investment Initiative 2018, which will take place from October 23–25 in Riyadh.
The Future Investment Initiative brings together an elite group of prominent figures and leaders—including decision-makers, business leaders, investors, innovators, and others who contribute to shaping the future of global investment—in discussions focused on three main themes: Investing in Transformation – How do investments contribute to the creation of new cities and economic transformations, and technology as a source of opportunities – How can technology serve as an enabler and contribute to creating new economic opportunities through large-scale customization and manufacturing? and developing human capabilities – how can we build a world where humans and machines collaborate to improve quality of life and increase safety, productivity, and happiness.
The Future Investment Initiative was launched to serve as a key platform for fostering global engagement among investors, innovators, and governments, as well as economic sector leaders. Last year, the initiative achieved great success with the participation of more than 3,800 participants from 90 countries. It addressed numerous topics regarding the future of the global economy, investment trends in the energy and infrastructure sectors, as well as artificial intelligence, robotics, and emerging sectors.
This year, the initiative aims to continue exploring trends and opportunities that will contribute to sustainable returns and positive impacts, and to build a network of key global influencers, as well as highlighting emerging sectors that will help shape the future of the global economy in the coming decades.
