The «MEED» Foundation revealed that the cost of the Kingdom’s pavilion at Expo 2020 in Dubai is approximately $40 million, while $30 million has been allocated for Kuwait’s pavilion and $30 million for France’s. The cost of the pavilions for the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Oman is $25 million each, and Spain’s pavilion is $20 million.
«Expo 2020 Dubai» is encouraging «Expo 2020 Dubai» encourages small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to participate, as they are a vital part of this national project; 20 percent of Expo 2020«s direct and indirect spending has been allocated to SMEs. To date, they have secured 1,645 contracts. On the Expo site, construction continues to rise, with more than 16 million hours of work completed so far.
In 2017, Expo awarded construction contracts worth more than 10.8 billion dirhams, as well as non-construction contracts worth 411 million dirhams. Tenders were issued in phases as part of the »Licensing and Merchandising« program, which aims to offer approximately 5,000 officially licensed products. These products will be sold in a specialized store—one of the largest in the world, spanning 3,000 square meters—called »The Store of the Future.«
