Saudi Real Estate Authority seeks to include “real estate science” in the curricula of Saudi universities

The third meeting of the Board of Directors of the Public Authority for Real Estate revealed the inclusion of “real estate sciences” among the specializations in a number of Saudi universities, according to an agreement that the Authority is working to sign with a number of these universities.

<The meeting, held under the chairmanship of H.E. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, Minister of Housing and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Authority, reviewed the work done by the Authority in the second quarter of 2018 to implement its work plan in its five tracks, starting with providing transparency and building real estate indicators in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice, the General Authority for Statistics, the World Bank and a number of government and private entities, as well as what the Authority has done to build the capacity of the real estate sector and implement the transformation plan of the Saudi Real Estate Institute to be a center for research, development, knowledge transfer and accreditation, and efforts made in partner service track and the establishment of the Authority's contact center (Amer). <The Council was briefed on what the Authority is doing to review the current real estate regulations and what the real estate sector needs to organize for the next phase. His Excellency the Minister of Housing, Chairman of the Board of Directors, explained that the Authority works to regulate and supervise the Saudi real estate sector to raise its efficiency, develop it and stimulate the investment environment in it, and works to implement its plan and achieve its vision that the Saudi real estate sector be vibrant, attractive, confident and innovative, noting that the Board discussed the Authority's work plan for the second half of 2018, and approved the agreements to be signed between the Authority and a number of Saudi universities to include the real estate science track within the specializations in these universities.

The Board reviewed the procedures to be signed between the Authority and a number of Saudi universities to include the real estate sciences track within the specializations in these universities. <The Council discussed the work done by the Authority to implement the main rule of its plan, which is the in-kind registration of real estate and the expected positive effects of preserving real property rights and giving them absolute authenticity to raise the level of confidence in the sector and the attractiveness of investment in it, noting that the Council approved the agreements to be signed by the Authority to serve its executive program for in-kind registration with the Ministry of Justice to benefit from and develop real estate data, the agreement between the Authority and the General Authority of Survey to cooperate in establishing the geospatial platform, and the agreement between the Authority and Saudi Post in the field of utilizing the data <The meeting was attended by HRH Prince Saud bin Talal bin Badr, Advisor to the Minister of Housing and General Supervisor of the Ministry's Agency for Housing Support and Branches, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance for Revenues Engineer Tariq bin Abdullah Al-Shahib, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy and Planning for Economic Affairs Abdulaziz bin Miteb Al-Rasheed, Assistant Undersecretary for Real Estate Registration at the Ministry of Justice Sheikh Abdullah bin Adnan Al-Suleimi, Director General of Engineering Department at the Ministry of Commerce and Investment Engineer Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Ruwaili, Deputy Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources Dr. Saleh bin Hussain Al Awaji, Vice Chairman of Board of Directors of the Authority.
