The Ministry of Labor and Social Development has clarified that approximately 712 economic activities will benefit from the service that eliminates the need for license verification procedures for numerous economic activities, covering more than 95% private-sector establishments, by linking them solely to the valid commercial register, in order to facilitate matters for entrepreneurs and private-sector establishments and to enhance the efficiency of the labor market.

The ministry’s official spokesperson, Khalid Abaalkheil, stated that simplifying and streamlining procedures will ease the requirements for obtaining licenses, and allow the commercial registration alone to suffice for many commercial activities involving approximately 95% business establishments.

The spokesperson noted that these measures are in line with the new development packages that align with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 to empower the private sector and provide government services in a user-friendly manner, explaining that for the remaining activities that do not require a commercial registration but do require licenses from other agencies, the Ministry is committed to processing these licenses to fulfill the regulatory requirements for these establishments.

He explained that private-sector establishments can benefit from the service once it is automated, without needing to visit any of the labor offices located throughout the Kingdom.
