Yanbu Commercial Port's cargo handling rises to 1,193TP3T in a month

The Yanbu Commercial Port set a new record by handling 413,824 thousand metric tons of various types of general cargo, during July 2018, compared to 141,066 thousand metric tons for the same period in July 2017, representing an unprecedented increase of 193%.

This achievement comes amid unprecedented handling rates, resulting from the port management’s dedicated efforts to enhance operational capacity following the completion of development projects at the port, in light of the General Authority for Ports“ ”Mawani” to enhance Saudi port services and raise their operational and logistical capabilities, in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
The port looks forward to continuing to achieve new milestones by attracting shipping lines, in order to keep pace with the qualitative leap it is experiencing on various levels and to highlight its economic position in the region.
It is worth noting that Yanbu Commercial Port features several terminals for handling general cargo, bulk cargo, and oils, as well as for cement exports, in addition to a passenger terminal. and the port’s capacity exceeds 13.5 million metric tons, which will have a significant impact on its ability to handle various types of cargo.
