National staff have successfully managed operations in the four most recent sectors covered by the localization decision, which took effect at the beginning of the current month of Muharram. These are (retail outlets for cars and motorcycles; stores selling ready-to-wear clothing, children’s clothing, and men’s accessories; stores selling ready-made home and office furniture; and stores selling household goods)

Engineer Mansour Al-Shathri, Chairman of the Saudi Labor Market Committee at the Council of Saudi Chambers, confirmed that businesses operating in the four sectors where the retail outlet Saudization decision took effect at the beginning of Muharram this year, are operating normally and are managed by young Saudi men and women, and have not been negatively affected by the Saudization decision. He denied allegations circulating on some social media platforms that certain stores had closed because they were unable to meet the Saudization requirements.

Engineer Al-Shathri said that the Council of Saudi Chambers and the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the Kingdom’s regions and provinces, in cooperation with the Ministry of Labor and Social Development and relevant authorities, have been working since the issuance of the decision to localize retail outlets in the 12 sectors to provide training programs to qualify and train young Saudi men and women, and to attract them to enable them to secure employment opportunities in retail outlets for those sectors.
