The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud presided over the session of the Council of Ministers, held on Tuesday afternoon in Riyadh.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency following the session, Minister of Information Dr. Awwad bin Saleh Al Awwad said that the Cabinet noted the fiscal strategy and its contribution to reducing deficit rates, supporting the sustainability of public finances and economic growth in the medium term, and the successful implementation of many initiatives to develop non-oil revenues, improve spending efficiency and targeting mechanisms for beneficiaries. He praised the preliminary statement of the state's general budget for the fiscal year (1440/1441-2019), which is announced for the first time in the history of the Kingdom's budget, which reflects the steps to develop the preparation and implementation of the general budget and raise the levels of financial disclosure and transparency within the programs to achieve the Kingdom's Vision 2030.

After reviewing the transaction submitted by the Ministry of Economy and Planning, and after reviewing the recommendation prepared by the Council of Economic and Development Affairs No. (19-49/39/D) dated 7/9/1439H, the Cabinet decided to adopt Title VII (Classification of Government Functions) of the Government Finance Statistics Manual (Fiscal 2014), prepared by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) In cooperation with the United Nations, as a general guide on which the unified classification of government agencies will be based, provided that its implementation will be initiated by the National Center for Documents and Archives, and that a high-level committee headed by the National Center for Documents and Archives, with the participation of a number of government agencies, will be formed to take the necessary measures to apply the classification to government agencies at all levels. After reviewing the recommendations prepared by the Council of Economic Affairs and Development No. (5-46/39/D) dated 24/8/1439H and No. (2-60/39/D) dated 10/11/1439H, the Council of Ministers decided to approve the extension of the duration of the National Program for Exhibitions and Conferences stipulated in Clause (X) of the National Program for Exhibitions and Conferences. stipulated in Clause (X) of Cabinet Decision No. 246 dated 17/7/1434H, for a period of five years starting from 17/10/1439H, provided that the program will end if the conferences and exhibitions industry strategy is adopted and implemented during the five-year period.
