The General Directorate of Passports, in cooperation with the National Information Center, announced the extension of tourist visas automatically for a period of 3 months, free of charge, for tourists currently in the Kingdom whose visas expired during the suspension of international flights imposed by the government as part of precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus in the Kingdom. She explained Passport Authority This step is part of the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to address the effects and consequences of the global pandemic (COVID-19) to implement precautionary measures that ensure the safety of citizens and residents, “God willing,” and mitigate the economic, financial, and developmental impacts.
The Passport Department noted that the validity of tourist visas for tourists currently in the Kingdom has been extended electronically through the automated system without the need to visit Passport Department offices, in cooperation with the National Information Center.
