The net loan portfolio of Saudi banks in the banking and financial services sector stood at approximately 1,266 billion riyals at the end of 2014.

An analysis of the structure reveals that personal financing amounted to approximately 409.8 billion riyals, which is equivalent to 31.7% of net loans. Al Rajhi Bank accounted for the highest proportion of personal financing relative to the total loans it extends to its customers, at 75.4%, while Banque de France provides personal financing to its customers at a rate of only 7.79% of its total lending volume, making it the bank with the lowest proportion of personal loans.

The volume of commercial financing amounted to approximately 858.3 billion riyals, representing 66.4% of net loans, Commercial financing accounted for 86.8% of Banque Saudi Fransi’s total financing—the highest ratio in the sector—while Al Rajhi Bank financed commercial operations at only 26.9% of its total loans, the lowest among banks.

The volume of credit card financing and other financing amounted to less than 2% of net loans, while credit provisions totaled approximately 26.1 billion riyals, representing 2.1% of net loans
