His Excellency Professor Faisal bin Fadel bin Mohsen Al-Ibrahim, Minister of Economy and Planning, took the oath of office before the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud—may God preserve him—today via video conference, following the issuance of the royal decree appointing him Minister of Economy and Planning. He said, "In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful… I swear by Almighty God to be loyal to my religion, then to my King and my country, not to disclose any of the state’s secrets, to safeguard its interests and systems, and to perform my duties with honesty, integrity, and devotion).

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques—may God support him—expressed his wishes for His Excellency’s success and guidance in his duties.

Mr. Faisal Al-Ibrahim has served as Deputy Minister of Economy and Planning since February 26, 2018, and oversees the Secretariat of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs. He also serves as Secretary of the Board of Directors of the National Development Fund, in addition to his membership on a number of boards and committees.

Al-Ibrahim has held several key roles at ”Saudi Aramco" during his tenure there, including Vice President of Aramco Development, Head of Mergers and Acquisitions in New Business Development, Project Manager for the King Salman International Marine Services and Industries Complex in Ras Al-Khair for Commercial and Financial Affairs, and Project Manager for the merger of Fila and Al-Bahri’s operations and fleets.

Al-Ibrahim holds a Master of Business Administration from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, in addition to a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Pennsylvania State University
