“Ports announces 8 investment opportunities to develop and operate multi-purpose terminals

The General Authority for Ports “Mawani,” through the Supervisory Committee for Privatization in the Transportation Sector and in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport and Logistics and the National Privatization Center, announced investment opportunities in partnership with the private sector to develop and operate multipurpose terminals at eight Saudi ports, thereby contributing to the Kingdom’s economic growth, promoting local content in the ports sector, and enhancing the competitiveness of Saudi ports regionally and globally, in line with the objectives of the National Strategy for Transportation and Logistics.
These promising opportunities consist of build-operate-transfer (BOT) contracts for the development and operation of terminals at the following ports: Jeddah Islamic Port, King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam, Ras Al-Khair Port, Jazan Port, Yanbu Commercial Port, King Fahd Industrial Port in Jubail, King Fahd Industrial Port in Yanbu, and Jubail Commercial Port, to provide various services including: containers, general cargo, bulk cargo, roll-on/roll-off cargo, passengers, and livestock.
These future contracts represent a continuation of efforts to strengthen the principle of public-private partnership in ports and logistics, in addition to optimizing the use of assets in this vital sector and enhancing its operational efficiency.
