The General Authority for Military Industries revealed that the number of licensed companies in the Kingdom's military industries sector increased by an estimated 41% until the end of the first half of this year, with the number of licensed companies reaching 99 local, international and mixed companies.<This came in the report on the indicators of the military industries sector in the Kingdom issued by the Authority today, showing the growth in the number of licensed companies, where local companies accounted for 85%, while international and mixed companies obtained 15%, while 55 licenses were granted to companies operating in the field of military manufacturing, followed by military services (24), and the field of supply of products (21%).<The Authority explained that the figures and statistics included in the report on the indicators of the military industries sector in the Kingdom come as a result of unified efforts and integrated work with all its partners from the public and private sectors, which is based on a strategy that set organizational frameworks for investment in the sector, and contributed significantly in facilitating the investment processes so as not to include any restrictions on investors wishing to enter the military industries market in the Kingdom as long as they will be a partner of the Authority in the process of localization, employment, and technology transfer. The indicators report reviewed the highlights of the Global Defense Exhibition, the global platform for operational compatibility in the defense industry, which will be held in Riyadh in March 2022, organized by the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI), as an ideal platform to link the Saudi defense industry and industry leaders from around the world, explore opportunities for technology and knowledge transfer, create jobs, and attract foreign investments.
