The Expenditure Efficiency and Government Projects Authority (EXPO) announced today the government entities that received the Practical and Institutional Excellence Award in Spending Efficiency for its third cycle.
The Practical Excellence Award consists of two parts, the first is the general evaluation and the second is the creative opportunities, and the Practical Excellence Award is presented to entities that implemented spending efficiency initiatives and achieved results according to the criteria of practical excellence.

The Institutional Excellence Award is based on progress in the program of spending efficiency sustainability pillars, with the aim of raising readiness to achieve self-sustainable spending efficiency according to international and local best practices without affecting the quality of services provided.

The Ministry of Transportation and Logistics, Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Commerce, Supreme Judicial Council, Northern Borders University, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Interior, Princess Nourah Bin Abdulrahman University, Ministry of Economy and Planning, Islamic University of Medina, National Center for Performance Measurement of Public Agencies (Performa), and Al Baha Municipality received the Practical Excellence Award in the general evaluation.

The Practical Excellence Awards for Creating Creative Opportunities also went to the University of Jeddah through the Teaching Hours Governance Platform, Tabuk University in restructuring the admission of majors in line with the labor market, the General Organization for Water Desalination in raising operational efficiency by reducing unit cost, the Ministry of Justice and the General Directorate of Prisons in remote trial, and the Royal Ceremonies in the efficiency and effectiveness of their services. The Royal Protocols in the efficiency and quality of hospitality services at the Royal Protocols, King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in the organ transplant program, Najran Municipality in utilizing the output of excavation work, Qassim Municipality in moving damaged cars to improve the visual scene, and the General Authority for Statistics in using technical means for statistical surveys.
While the Saline Water Desalination Corporation won the first place among government entities in the institutional excellence of the Pillars of Spending Efficiency Sustainability Program and the first place in the category of bodies, institutions and centers, the Ministry of Health won the second place in the overall evaluation and the first place in the level of ministries, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development won the third place in the overall evaluation and the second place in the level of ministries, the Ministry of Transport and Logistics won the third place in the level of ministries and the Diriyah Gate Development Authority won the second place in the category of the second place in the category of the
His Excellency the Governor of the Saline Water Desalination Corporation, Engineer Abdullah bin Ibrahim Al-Abdulkareem, stressed that the Corporation is committed to the sustainability of water production with the highest reliability and efficiency, and harnesses modern technologies to achieve the lowest global rates of production cost, in addition to following the approach of financial sustainability as one of the possibilities of security of supply, and with the success of God, we achieved savings of more than (920) million riyals in fiscal year 2020 in cooperation with the Authority for Efficient Spending and Government Projects.
For his part, His Excellency Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al-Arifi, Assistant Minister of Transport and Logistics, pointed out that the Ministry dealt with the main objectives of spending efficiency with great care and high accuracy, and through the adoption of integrated work policies, which contributed to achieving the achievement of saving more than (31) billion riyals, since the beginning of the partnership with the Authority for Efficient Spending and Government Projects, stressing that the Ministry aspires to achieve more targets of the wise leadership to achieve spending efficiency and fiscal balance stemming from the Kingdom Vision 2030.
For his part, the Assistant Undersecretary for Development and Performance at the Ministry of Justice, Majid bin Abdulrahman Al-Hamid, explained that the ministry worked within its strategic objectives, which include raising operational efficiency, achieving fair justice, and activating digital transformation to start remote trial services for prisoners since 2019, within a package of innovative solutions in all sectors that rely directly on digital solutions, to reduce litigation times and shorten effort and time by achieving direct efficiency to increase spending efficiency.
For his part, the Assistant Undersecretary for Development and Performance at the Ministry of Justice explained that the ministry worked within its strategic objectives that include raising operational efficiency, achieving fair justice, and activating digital transformation.
For his part, the CEO of the Expenditure Efficiency and Government Projects Authority (EXPO), Engineer Abdul Razzaq bin Subhi Al Aujan, pointed out the keenness and direction of the wise leadership towards spending efficiency within the Kingdom's Vision 2030 and the financial sustainability program through detailed legislations that contribute to achieving spending efficiency on the ground and define roles and responsibilities between government agencies and the Authority, and the leadership directed all government agencies to adopt the responsibility of spending efficiency.
Thus, the role of the Authority comes in empowering entities by contributing to building a culture of spending efficiency, developing the necessary capabilities, raising readiness and monitoring performance, building the necessary methodologies and tools to identify spending efficiency initiatives, in addition to developing sustainable institutional solutions, and on the other hand, the role of sister government entities in researching and developing spending efficiency initiatives and implementing them, he thanked on this occasion all sister government entities for their continuous cooperation with the Authority.
