The Ministry of Transport and Logistics illuminated the suspension bridge in the capital, Riyadh, with the colors of the Kingdom’s flag to coincide with the celebrations of the 91st National Day.
The suspension bridge is the longest of its kind in the Kingdom; construction was completed and the bridge was officially opened in 1420 AH – 2000 AD.
The bridge is 763 meters long and consists of three piers measuring 179, 405, and 179 meters, respectively, The bridge is 35.8 meters wide and consists of two lanes separated by a 5.40-meter-wide median island; it was designed using modern bridge-building techniques.
This initiative by the Ministry to illuminate the suspension bridge is part of its efforts to improve the services provided, enhance the quality of life in the Kingdom’s cities, and participate in the celebrations of the Kingdom’s 91st National Day.
