The launch by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince—may God protect him—of the National Investment Strategy, which is one of the key drivers for achieving the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, marks a new era for investment in our country.
According to the announced figures—which the strategy will help achieve—the private sector’s contribution to GDP will rise to 65 %, and foreign direct investment will be bolstered, with its contribution reaching 5.7 % of GDP, increase the share of non-oil exports from 16 % to 50 % of total non-oil GDP, reduce the unemployment rate to 7 %, and the Kingdom will advance to one of the top 10 positions in the Global Competitiveness Index by 2030.
More than 12 trillion riyals will be invested in the domestic economy by 2030, and the economy will receive an additional 10 trillion riyals in government spending through the state budget over the next 10 years, and another 5 trillion riyals from private consumer spending over the same period, bringing the total spending to 27 trillion riyals by 2030.
This massive scale of spending opens doors for the private sector, providing it with the opportunity to produce, grow, and thrive in sectors such as manufacturing, renewable energy, transportation and logistics, tourism, digital infrastructure, healthcare, e-commerce, digital marketing, and other vital fields.
We can only imagine the number of jobs this strategy will create, the volume of foreign and domestic investments that will be injected into the market, and the economic momentum we will witness thanks to this trillion-rial spending on projects.
Now, whether you are an investor, an entrepreneur, the owner of a small, medium, or micro-enterprise, someone with limited capital, or even an employee, but to think seriously and consciously about expanding, developing new plans, or launching a new investment with confidence and without hesitation. The ball is now in the court of the adventurous investor, and there are no bold investments without real risk.
