Today marked the end of the term for municipal councils in their third session across the Kingdom’s various regions and governorates, and the Secretary-General of the Municipal Councils issued a circular thanking the chairs and members of the municipal councils, instructing them to compile, organize, and archive all council documents and transactions and hand them over to the relevant municipal secretariat, as well as to receive the affidavits from the chairs and members of the municipal councils and to coordinate with the secretariats and municipalities to collect them.

Accordingly, procedures for repaying financial advances were completed in coordination with the relevant departments in the municipal secretariats and municipalities; municipal council accounts on social media were taken over; and passwords, email addresses, and mobile phone numbers (if applicable) were updated.

This comes after the expiration of the two-year extension of municipal council members’ terms, granted by Cabinet Decision No. 102 on 2/2/1441 AH, effective from the 6th of Jumada al-Awwal of that year, which ended today, Thursday.
