SABIC recently introduced a new product to the market construction and building market in the Kingdom; it has developed a carbon black grade (N330) aimed at improving the quality of on-site cast concrete structures, which require rapid drying and provide additional strength.

This product is part of SABIC’s ongoing efforts to provide the market with more innovative solutions; the new material is added to the concrete mix to manufacture hollow concrete building units that are characterized by their strength and durability, require less preparation time, and improve the final finish. This product has proven effective in reducing pouring time by more than 40% and increasing strength by 7%.

Carbon Black (N330) delivers superior performance when blended in specific proportions with concrete and mixed with other chemicals to suit the manufacture of precast building units, which meet the high compressive strength requirements set by the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization, and the Gulf Cooperation Council Standardization Organization. This newly developed product also helps expand opportunities for SABIC in the field of carbon black products it supplies to the industrial sector.
