The Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority revealed that the compliance rate among businesses for electronic invoicing exceeded 80 percent in most stores and markets. The Authority stated that it conducted more than 10,000 inspection visits last August, noting that only a limited number of violations were detected, including the failure to include a QR code on electronic invoices, the failure to issue electronic tax invoices, and the failure to issue electronic debit or credit notices.
The Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority confirmed that its inspection visits to markets, retail stores, and service establishments are part of its regulatory efforts carried out by field inspection teams, with the aim of enhancing tax compliance among taxpayers in the business sector and curbing commercial transactions that violate the instructions and regulations falling within the Authority’s jurisdiction.
