The Minister of Municipal, Rural Affairs, and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, is participating in the Middle East Green Initiative Summit and the Saudi Green Initiative Forum, which conclude today, Saturday, in Sharm El-Sheikh, Arab Republic of Egypt, coinciding with the Climate Summit.
This year’s second edition of the Saudi Green Initiative Forum brought together a select group of speakers, experts, and thought leaders to discuss the progress made in implementing the initiatives previously announced by the Kingdom to address climate change, This year’s forum theme reflects the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which aims to turn ambition into reality by strengthening joint action to address the climate challenges affecting the entire world.
The Saudi Green Initiative aims to plant 10 billion trees across the Kingdom over the coming decades and increase the proportion of protected areas to 30% of the Kingdom’s total land area.
