The General Authority for Statistics reported that the industrial production index for December 2022 rose by (7.3?) compared to the same month of the previous year (December 2021), driven by growth in mining and quarrying, as well as manufacturing activity
The results of the monthly index bulletin showed that the index for mining and quarrying activity for December 2022 rose by 4.1% compared to the same month of the previous year (December 2021),
Manufacturing activity in December 2022 rose by 18.5 % compared to the same month of the previous year (December 2021), while electricity and gas supply activity declined by 6.51 TP3T compared to December 2021.
The results of the industrial production survey indicated that the industrial production index recorded positive growth rates during 2022, supported by increases in mining and quarrying activity and manufacturing activity.
It is worth noting that theGeneral Authority for Statistics publishes a number of statistical products related to industry, including the Industrial Production Index, an economic indicator that reflects relative changes and trends in the volume of industrial production based on data from the Industrial Production Survey, which is conducted monthly and targets industrial establishments engaged in the following activities: namely mining and quarrying, manufacturing, and electricity and gas supply.
