The total number of real estate transactions in Riyadh during the second quarter of the Hijri year 1436 AH (Rabi' al-Thani, Jumada al-Awwal, and Jumada al-Thani) reached 25,000 (the highest number of transactions), carried out during this period, accounting for 31% of the total real estate market transactions, distributed as follows: 20,162 land transactions, 926 apartments, 1,670 commercial units, 863 agricultural plots, 472 houses, 346 facilities, 289 villas, and 262 apartment buildings.
The Eastern Province came in second in terms of the number of real estate transactions, trailing the Makkah region by a narrow margin. The former recorded 14,758 thousand transactions (12,477 thousand in the residential sector and 2,281 in the commercial sector), while the Eastern Region recorded 13,290 thousand transactions (12,176 thousand in the residential sector and 1,114 in the commercial sector).
Al-Qassim, Al-Madinah, Ha’il, Asir, the Northern Border Province, Al-Jawf, Jazan, Tabuk, Najran, and Al-Baha followed in that order in terms of the number of transactions completed.
The value of real estate transactions across all cities in the Kingdom reached 83.4 billion riyals, of which 59.1 billion riyals were residential and 24.2 billion riyals were commercial. Riyadh accounted for 29.8 billion riyals, while the Makkah region ranked second in the value of real estate transactions executed during the second quarter, with a total of 28.1 billion riyals, followed by the Eastern Province with 11.2 billion riyals and Madinah with 5.7 billion riyals, followed by Al-Qassim at 3.9 billion riyals, Asir at 1.2 billion riyals, the Ha’il region at 926 million riyals, and the Tabuk region at 633 million riyals, followed by Jazan at 485 million riyals, Al-Jawf at 423 million riyals, Najran at 368 million riyals, the Northern Border Region at 234 million riyals, and finally Al-Baha, where real estate transactions totaled 19 million riyals.
In a comparison of the number of real estate transactions executed between the first and second quarters of this year, the figures are similar in four regions: in the Riyadh region, the residential sector recorded 20,644 transactions in the first quarter, representing 42.6%; in the Makkah region, 13,527 transactions, representing 27.9%; in the Eastern Province, 11,529 residential transactions (23.8%), and in the Asir region, 2,796 (5.8%). As for the second quarter of the same year, the number of residential transactions in the Riyadh region was 20,360 thousand, representing 44.9%; in the Makkah region, it reached 11,751 thousand, representing 25.9%; in the Eastern Province, 10,830 thousand transactions, representing 23.9%, and in the Asir region, 2,408 transactions, representing 5.3%.
