The Real Estate Registry is a collection of documents that include highly accurate descriptions of real estate properties, their legal and physical status, and their location through the use of geospatial data, in addition to rights and obligations, and any subsequent changes thereto, It covers both government-owned and privately-owned properties, including commercial, residential, and agricultural properties.

What is real estate registration?

It is a system for registering real estate that uses the property itself as the basis for recording ownership and other real estate rights associated with it, by creating an entry in the registry that includes the property number, the owner’s name, and a description of the property—including its type, location, area, boundaries, and dimensions—as well as the rights attached to it, the obligations associated with it, any transactions involving it, and the rights of third parties arising from it.

Stages of Real Property Registration:

Initial real property registration:

Inclusion of real estate in the Real Estate Registry for the first time in its current condition and assigning a page to it in the Real Estate Registry.

Real estate transactions:

Inclusion of all real estate transactions subsequent to the initial registration of the property in the Real Estate Registry, including sales and purchases, the registration of subdivisions and mergers, and all rights and obligations arising from ownership after the completion of the initial registration of the property in the Real Estate Registry.
