Jeddah Municipality detected 2,264 building violations in a number of neighborhoods during last June, as part of its tasks to improve services, address visual pollution and improve the urban landscape of the city.

Improving the urban landscape

Jeddah Municipality explained that the monitoring efforts carried out by the sub-municipalities come within the framework of an intensive support plan to improve the urban landscape and monitor building violations in all its forms, indicating that the field work resulted in notifying 1,113 violating sites to correct their status legally.

Removal of building waste

The violations that were monitored varied between not removing construction or renovation waste, not placing a sign on construction sites showing license data, not fencing or planting the perimeter of land in areas designated by the municipality according to municipal specifications and instructions, dumping construction waste on other people's lands or public places, and not cleaning the work site during and after completion.
